“Help From The Hill”
In the Fall of 2020, the IFC on the Hill partnered with Clinica Family Health, the official local philanthropy of the IFC, in a fundraising effort titled “Help from the Hill”. This fundraiser was a great success thanks to the help of the custom apparel company, Duds by Dudes. With their help, the IFC was able to sell 125 shirts with all proceeds going directly to Clinica Family Health. Below are some of Clinica’s very own wearing the shirts sold in the past fundraiser.
Because of the success of the fall fundraiser, the IFC on the Hill continued the initiative in the Spring.
In the Spring of 2021, the IFC launched student-designed hoodies and shirts that’s proceeds would once again go towards Clinica Family Health. This fundraiser is just one of the many ways that the IFC on the Hill chooses to support Clinica. The IFC is endlessly proud of our fundraising work with Clinica Family Health and revels in any opportunity to ensure and inspire real change right here in Boulder. Below is a picture of the advertisement of the hoodie that was sold in the most recent fundraiser.
“IFC Small Business Grants”
In the Spring of 2021, the IFC on the Hill looked to directly give back to the local Boulder community. As many small businesses on the University Hill area were hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic, the IFC tried to do our part by giving out “IFC Small Business Grants”. The grants were given to five select businesses on the Hill, who each received $750 to use towards benefiting their company in exchange for helping the IFC promote spring rush.
In total, the IFC gave out $3,750 in small business grants. The IFC is very committed to helping out within the community that we serve. We hope that these grants will help these businesses come out stronger as we near the end of the pandemic. Below are some pictures of our own Michael Durr and Vance Parry in front of a few of these businesses.
IFC On The Hill “Hillanthropy”
The City of Boulder and the Undergraduate Interfraternity Council on the Hill enjoy a partnership to improve the quality of life on the University Hill for its residents, businesses, and visitors. The IFC on the Hill has agreed to house the ongoing “Hillanthropy” program that engages CU student organizations in neighborhood clean-up initiatives. The program was created as a partnership between the city and CU student organizations in 2015 as part of the Hill Reinvestment Strategy.
Various attempts have been made to reduce litter in the Hill neighborhoods, and the Hillanthropy program has proven to be low-cost and sustainable. The IFC is committed to organizing and staffing four clean-ups a year around the following key student activity dates: Homecoming (early October), Halloween (late October), St.Patrick’s Day (March), and Better Boulder Day (April). The cleanup area will generally be the boundary of the city-funded Residential Service District (RSD) pilot in 2015-2017, an area of the Hill that was identified as the most heavily impacted by student activity.
The program will be supported by the efforts of the Hill Reinvestment neighborhood working group, which meets monthly and includes a representative from the IFC as well as representatives from CU Student Government, Panhellenic, the University Hill Neighborhood Association (UHNA), the Boulder Area Rental Housing Association (BARHA), CU Off Campus Housing and Neighborhood Relations, and City Council.
